  1. I only know two questions. I feel ashamed. Jeff Buckley drowned in Tennessee (3) and Grinspoon won the first Unearthed (14). I think. Yay for me.

  2. Yes, but you weren't a child of the Nineties; you were a child in the Nineties...alot of people haven't been able to answer any questions, so well done.

  4. Skye, you're right except for question 1 (I bet people would never get it, I still have the countdown recorded on tape and when Richard Kingsmill announced what was #1, he said "Wow! Who would've picked it?"

Actually, for question 19, that was the song FLC sang, but I wanted what the song was about...

  5. 6. The band 311 were named after the Nebraska state police code for which criminal offence? Indecent Exposure

    19. Okay, what are Scooby Snacks? Pills.

    12. Which mid-90s grrl band were named after a character in a well-loved Roald Dahl book? Veruca Salt

  6. BSE - yes for 6 and 12.

19 - ooh! So close...what kind of pills?

  7. I think I did alright :)
#1. I was thinking of the Hottest 100 - My friends & I had a Hottest 100 party that year and I remember it like it was yesterday. I was so glad that Killing Heidi didn't get the #1 spot, because I was sure they might :S

  8. The poll I'm speaking of, was conducted on the J Files in late 1999 (I think...)

  9. Question 11.

I don't really care for the Smashing Pumpkins, but Soundgarden broke through with their 1991 album BadMotorFinger. By 'broke through' I am referring to the alternative charts.
Granted the singles Black Hole Sun and Spoonman, two of their worst songs, are the only thing that has been played on any regular basis by radio stations around the world. And they came from SuperUnknown.

I repeat... screw Smashing Pumpkins. Screw them in the eye.

  10. it took me 10 minutes to think of the name.

Is question 1 - You Am I, Berlin Chair?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Question 11 - you may be technically right, but not in the context of the question - so you don't get the credit.

But question 1 - you're right! Someone got it (actually, I think I've told you that one at some stage...) Nonetheless...

  12. In context, Valium. In other contexts, the phrase refers to "E". Hence the suitably generic reply ... "pills".

    ReplyDelete
  13. Might as well add some.

    4. True or false: These were actual lyrics from a big early Nineties dance hit: "I'm serious as cancer/When I say rythym is a dancer". True. Nothing but tacky 90s dance schmance could come up with something that tacky. Snap!

    10. In the "Britpop Wars", who made it to #1 on the UK singles chart first - Blur or Oasis? With which song? I'll take a guess (purely a guess!) and say Blur with Song #2.

    20. Two.

    ReplyDelete
  14. i think Song 2 was Blur's 'come back' song. Released after they dissappeared off the face of the planet for a few years.

    can i have a point?

    ReplyDelete
  15. 20. Yes! Valium.

How can you say "Song 2" was Blur's comeback, they never really went away. There was only 18 months between "Country House" and "Song 2"

    ReplyDelete
  16. Country House was better though.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Me gargling Milo sounds better than Song 2 :)
